The spatial perception is a complex process that implies a series of abilities that carry to an adequate managing of the space. When these abilities are seen altered by some cerebral injury, especially if affects the parietal region of the hemisphere right, the patient presents spatial deficits and is seen drawn into a world without sense. In the present article is made a short theoretical review on the spatial perception and the spatial alterations by cerebral injuries.
La percepción espacial es un proceso complejo que implica una serie de habilidades que llevan a un adecuado manejo del espacio. Cuando estas habilidades se ven alteradas por alguna lesión cerebral, especialmente si afecta la región parietal del hemisferio derecho, el paciente presenta déficits espaciales y se ve envuelto en un mundo sin sentido. En el presente artículo se hace una breve revisión teórica sobre la percepción espacial y las alteraciones espaciales por lesiones cerebrales.
